Results are in for the 1st tournament of the year. Awesome turnout with 24 teams despite the looming forecast. These are some dedicated anglers/competitors. Almost 1/3 of the teams had weights over 10# and 25% of the teams weighed in a fish over 2 pounds. Eufaula Lake is an incredible fishery with both quantity and quality.
Top 4 teams received checks along with the team of Buck/Young for their Big Fish which weighed in at 2.59 pounds. Payout is 1 place for every 5 teams, so the larger the participation the deeper the payout.
All teams will receive points in the points series which will be paid out at the state championship October 12-13th. I know it doesn’t show that here but we will get it corrected in the near future. As with anything there is a learning curve, this is no exception. We used an electronic tournament management program that allowed us to have an electronic leader board at weigh-in and allowed us to manage the registration very effectively, but since this was the 1st time we used it there were a couple of issues. The points is one of those issues but it will be corrected soon.
The next tournament is on Tenkiller lake on April 20th with the early registration ending April 12th. This will be a great tournament on some different water than most of us fish, no muddy water there!
Congratulations to all the anglers on being part of the inaugural tournament and we are excited for what is coming up this year.
