Hudson Lake Tournament, July 13th 2019 High waters typically don’t play favor to crappie fishing, and Saturday’s tournament was no different. 16 teams entered the open division and two teams in the traditional division for a day of tough fishing. Teams fished all the way from the Pensacola Dam to the main lake south of Highway 20 bridge. 17 of the 18 teams weighed in for the tournament with 14 limits weighed. It was a very close tournament with only 1/100th of a pound separating the first and second place teams. David Riggs of Owasso fishing alone took first place in the non-traditional division with a weight of 7.90 lbs. The team of Jeremy Fisher and Michael Johnson placed second with a weight of 7.89. Third place and the final payout spot went to Chris Buck and Brian Young with a weight of 7.81. Riggs concentrated his fishing on brush in the main river. Fisher and Johnson was fishing standing timber in the side creeks, while Buck and Young caught a majority of their fishing shooting docks. Big fish of the day came from the team of Ralph Thomison and Craig Nichols with a 2.06 black crappie. They concentrated on standing timber in a couple of the creeks off the main river. In the traditional division, Trae and John Hamilton took the win with a 6.29 lb bag and a big fish of 1.19. Thanks to all the teams that fished and we look forward to seeing you at Kaw Lake on August 10th. |
